AIS Fellow Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Roman Beck

Bentley University proudly announces that Professor Roman Beck, the Chester B. Slade Endowed Chair of Information Systems, has been named a Fellow of the Association for Information Systems (AIS).

The AIS Fellow distinction is one of the highest honors in the global information systems discipline and recognizes scholars who have made sustained and significant contributions to research, leadership, and service in the field.

Professor Beck’s research focuses on the societal and institutional implications of emerging digital infrastructures, including blockchain governance, decentralized finance (DeFi), digital sovereignty, and the transformation of financial systems through distributed ledger technologies.

At Bentley, Professor Beck leads the Crypto Ledger Lab, advancing interdisciplinary research, education, and industry engagement at the intersection of blockchain technology, digital finance, and governance innovation.

This recognition highlights both Professor Beck’s global scholarly impact and Bentley University’s leadership in advancing research on the future of digital institutions and financial systems.
